“Hello Out There?”
Time has not been kind to Mother
Earth. Her moans and cries go un-noticed or ignored by far to many people today. All around us the damage is visible, where
man has wandered Mother Earth has been changed.
David Suzuki asked me to make our
environment the number one priority in my next democratic process of voting. Vote to Save The Planet
I plan on doing just that and would also pray that many others will also do the same.
My view on this topic follows and
I invite the responses of the many candidates looking for election to the political process of protecting my environment or
actually from anyone with an opinion on the topic of environmental responsibility.
The few remaining places on this planet that have not been physically damaged by man hold the last secret
of mans longevity.
Synthetic development of medicines has created a mentality that the natural ones they have replicated are
no longer important. Natural medicines are disappearing in many parts of the world, knowing this has created an even greater
demand for the natural and spiritual healing of nature.
Destruction of species for economic
benefit has been acknowledged for quite some time. World organizations have recommended for immediate action and the Kyoto
Protocol was implemented. (I wonder if the United States Space program is aware of this agreement?) Space exploration by all
nations should be halted until ozone and stratospheres damage has been evaluated. This
should be the first measure in reducing greenhouse gasses.
In the examples of forest clear cutting, open pit mining or burning the rain forest to claim land; these
practices also should be banned in all countries until the land is verdantly reclaimed.
Canada has scored very poorly as
an earth friendly nation and the evidence is now in our face as we read of the countries many water and smog problems. Urban
Ontario has suffered irreversible damages from many years of neglect and these problems are now being noticed in many remote
lake regions in the province. Most areas of Canada have suffered with water related problems. Modern industrial agriculture
techniques have proven to be un-manageable and have resulted in biogenetic mutations in all life forms.
Ecological damage is global when
considering air, water and atmospheric pollution but the direct hand of man does the irreversible damages. Indigenous Elders,
Spiritualists and Scientists have spoken on the need for change in this detrimental mentality of World Power by some nations.
Reducing waste means reducing consumer demand for un friendly products often produced outside of regulated authority.
So if your thinking you have heard
all of this before and that nothing is about to change concerning world powers and politics well you are the problem. (Not
part of the solution then part of the problem seems appropriate here.)
As concerned voices we should direct
the agenda of those we elect, not visa versa. I remember reading one time it actually started out along those lines, the politician
actually asked you if you wanted anything specific, you told them your thoughts and they went ahead and did what they intended
to in the first place, along those lines but at least then was a time you could see the person.
These days the prospective political
representative has someone hand deliver their platform agenda to your home in nice glossy pamphlets letting you know what
they intend to achieve when elected.
With a federal election in Canada
looming around the corner sooner or later these are points to ponder.
Green Party agenda is looking to discuss on a one on one verbal discussion of their political agenda, I
believe the Green Party should be seriously listened to when trying to make sense of the recent Canadian political process.
An issue as important as the water
we drink and the air we breathe might not be better left to politics. The responsibility lies with each and every one of us
to do our part in hepling Mother Nature survive.

Then again, you can
just ask David Suzuki.
