What I would do if I were Sick 

Prov 18:14
14 A man's spirit sustains him in sickness, but a crushed spirit who can
bear?
I haven't been sick much in my life but if I ever were this is what I hope that
I would do.

1. I would listen to good music if I could. Or I would try to sing to myself.
Col 3:16
16
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.(KJV)

2. I would read the word of God or have it read to me as much as I could.
Rem 10:17
17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

3. I would not let anyone into the room who was there to tell me how terrible it all was or to talk negative.
Prov 15:13
13 A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.

4.I would try to look only on the bright side of life.
Phil 4:8
8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable-- if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-- think about such things.

5. Make a list of all the things that I have to be thankful for.
Col 3:15
15 Let the peace of heart that comes from Christ be always present in your hearts and lives, for this is your responsibility and privilege as members of his body. And always be thankful.(TLB)
Ps 95:2
2 Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms. (KJV)

6. I would try to find something to laugh at each day.
Prov 17:22
22 A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.(KJV)

An anonymous friar in a Nebraska monastery wrote the following late in life:

If I had my life to live over again, I'd try to make more mistakes next time. I would relax, I would limber up, I would be sillier than I have been this trip. I would take more trips. I would be crazier. I would climb more mountains, swim more rivers, and watch more sunsets. I would eat more ice cream and less beans. If I bad to do it over again I would go places, do things, and travel lighter. If I had my life to live over I would start barefooted earlier in the spring and stay that way later in the fall. I would ride on more merry-go-rounds. I'd pick more daisies.

7. I would pray and I would ask others to pray for me.
James 5:13-15
13 Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing
praises.
14 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them
pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord;
15 and the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will
raise him up, and if he has committed sins, they will be forgiven him.
